As photographer, I only for an instant, sometimes a little longer, am part of the life of those I meet. Sometimes even without them noticing my presence at all. I can touch people now and then; and they touch me in the deepest sense - some of them are in my soul forever. The fisherman from PortugalĀ“s north, for example, i will never forget him. Everyone I photo I want to feel that I respect them, and that I genuinely thank them for the moment shared.

Unsharpness, imperfection, movement in photos: it fasinates me. It enforces the mystique of the photo image.

Catching that one, unique moment or emotion in my photo. The fact people I meet allow me into their world, in their soul perhaps. That they allow me to photo them. That, I cherish deeply.
