As photographer I, only for an instant and sometimes a little longer, am part of the life of those I meet. Sometimes even without them noticing my presence at all. Some I met with touched me in the deeply - some of them are in my soul forever. The fisherman from the north of Portugal, for example, I will never forget him.
Unsharpness and imperfection in photos: it fascinates me. It enforces the mystique of the photo image.
Catching that one, unique moment or emotion. And the fact that people I meet allow me into their world, into their soul perhaps. That they allow me to portray them. That, I cherish deeply.
